We've already learned that everything in Linux is a file -- but in this video we learn about the specific device types that are created in the /dev folder. That includes some special virtual character devices, namely: /dev/zero /dev/null & /dev/urandom We then look at how to identify the actual underlying hardware connected to the system, and a few extra $RANDOM bonus things along the way. This is part of our CompTIA Linux+ series, and even if you're not interested in certification, is a great way to learn the nitty gritty bits of a Linux operating system.
